Tips for improving client relationships

32359502_SRelationships. Relationships. Relationships. That’s the business we’re in right?

As you already know, building and maintaining relationships is what brings in and keeps business. While this may be something you feel is a skill you’ve mastered, don’t get too confident because there are always areas in which we can improve. Here are a few tips on maintaining relationships, for beginner and novice agents alike.

  1. Be patient. Building relationships take time.
  2. Don’t be a schmoozer, as it can be a put-off. Instead, take the time to get to know your client, and share a little bit of yourself. Most importantly, remember that your work for your client is extremely important in building a relationship. At the end of the day, no amount of personal connection can substitute for great work.
  3. Treat every client as your most important one. Simply put, happy clients are more likely to make referrals.
  4. Respond promptly. When a client emails you, acknowledge you have received the email as quickly as possible, even if you do not have the answer right away. You will give them comfort by simply acknowledging their request and by communicating that you’re on it.

By keeping these four simple tips at the front of your mind, you’re sure to impress customers and keep them coming back to you time-and-time again. Good luck!
